August Newsletter
The team has produced another great edition of the NSBC Newsletter. It has been restructured to make it more readable!
There are many interesting and instructive articles including:
- The announcement of the club's "reducing waste" policy and extension of free bridge lessons to selected CW sessions.
- Congratulations for many successful results by club members in Club, Congress and even interstate events.
- Monthly Comp results, new books in the library and the inevitable two Bidding Challenges
- Upcoming Club events and club members' ABF Master-point ranking promotions in July
- Profiles focus on your current newsletter editors Kevin and Kay
- Pat's instructive hand and solution
- Anita's learning program for August
- Matthew's "Nasty director" article completes his series of 3 articles on ethical dilemmas at the bridge table
- Mike Lawrence's article on counting spades is enlightening. It's amazing what you can glean from just the bidding and play to the first trick!
- Kevin's Solutions to the challenges take you through the bidding, review actual results at the club and discuss how to play these hands in high level contracts
- Finally the back page covers both our Club's and the NSW Congress calendars
We recommend the newsletter as a good read, either in electronic PDF or just pick up a printed copy at one of our venues.
