NSBC Closed for 4 weeks due to Covid-19

Due to advice from the Australian Bridge Federation on Covid 19 the NSBC committee and management have agreed that the club will be closed from Monday 16th March till Thursday 16th April. If these dates change in any way,  I will inform all members ASAP.

We apologise for any inconvenience but keeping all members, staff and players healthy at NSBC is our number 1 priority. We want you all healthy fit and well so we can all return to the wonderful game we all love.

The AGM was set for 11.30am Saturday 4th April. This will be postponed till 11.30am Saturday  2nd May. This will mean we need new Nomination and Proxy forms with the adjusted dates which will be distributed in due course when we are confident that the AGM can be held on that date. All members will be notified if we can’t proceed on May 2nd.

Stay safe healthy and we all are hoping this comes to and end real soon and I look forward to seeing you all back at the club.

To States and Territories

The ABF recommends that Bridge Clubs be temporarily closed for four weeks as from Wednesday 18th March 2020 (or a date next week set by the club) with the situation to be reviewed at the end of that period. A further extension may be imposed if necessary.

Whilst it may be a difficult decision, health experts around the world are all in agreement that the best way to slow the transmission of the virus is for people to practice social distancing.  Many other organizations are cancelling events that involve gatherings of people and we feel it is a duty of care to our extremely high-risk clientele and to afford the highest level of health and safety to the members, their families and the wider community.

best regards
