Liam Milne has been appointed to the position of NSBC Face-to-Face Bridge Manager.

Liam is commencing in this position today and will be focused this week on his handover from Mike Prescott.

Originally from New Zealand, Liam is a highly accomplished bridge player, club manager, teacher, and journalist.   Liam has nearly ten years of experience working in bridge clubs in Sydney including Kings and Queens and Royal Sydney Golf Club.

As a player, Liam has represented Australia at the highest level on numerous occasions, two highlights being a win in the 2011 Asia Pacific Open Pairs at the age of 23 and a top-ten finish at the 2014 World Open Pairs. A twelve-time Australian national champion, Liam's recent wins include the 2019 South-West Pacific Teams and 2019 Gold Coast Open Teams.

As a teacher, Liam has mentored several international representative pairs and coached the Australian U26 and U26 Girls teams overseas at the Asia Pacific Championships. Away from the table, Liam is an award-winning bridge journalist and a member of the International Bridge Press Association Executive Committee. Liam's articles won international prizes in three of the last four years, including 2019's Declarer Play of the Year. He recently edited Kim Frazer's award-winning book about improving one's mental performance at the bridge table.

Liam’s talents will be of great benefit to us as we continue to re-open our face-to-face bridge operations at North Ryde and East Lindfield.  Liam will also be responsible for establishing our operations at Chatswood if all goes to plan with that facility.

An announcement regarding the appointment to our online bridge manager position will be made shortly. In the meantime Gary Barwick continues to manage those operations for us all.
