Club (State) Mixed Pairs Championships - Welcome
Welcome to the NSBC Club Mixed Pairs Championships event of 2022. Pairs playing in this event must be of mixed gender. This is a North Shore Bridge Club Championship event and club members participating will be eligible for CC points depending on their performance. This event is also a qualifier (NSWBA conditions apply) for the State Mixed Pairs Championship on the 28th & 29th May at the NSWBA in Goulburn Street Sydney. This event is a three-session Thursday-night mixed-pairs event
on the 3rd, 10th & 17th March 2022. Starting at 7:00pm
Prize Pool of $600 & 4 x State Mixed Pairs Entries
Generous Red Points at State Masterpoint Level (3.75)
Please be considerate and log into the session by 6:45pm at the latest. This gives the director and your partner reassurance that you have remembered the event and also provides extra time to solve technical issues should they occur.
Visitors are Welcome
Vistors are welcome to play in this event and can any receive red points and cash prizes earned. However only pairs where both players are members of the NSBC will be eligible for the State Mixed Pairs Entry prizes. (See NSWBA Condititions below)
NSWBA Conditions
This is a state qualifying event is subsequent to conditions outlined in State Mixed Pairs Invitation Letter and Supplementry Tournament Regulations set by the NSWBA. Summarising the NSWBA conditions "Only players who are members of a club affiliated with the NSWBA can play in online sessions". It is expected that the State Mixed Pairs Championship will be run as a face to face event and as such eligible qualifying pairs are required to be double vaccinated (Covid-19). Pairs qualifying for the final through this NSBC qualifying event will not be able to contend the Country Mixed Pairs Final. Players must have an active ABF masterpoint number.
Online Final: In the situation where NSWBA moves the finals from face-to-face onto RealBridge the NSBC will increase the sponsored State Mixed Pairs Entry prizes from 4 to 5.
Entries & Payments
Entries and payments are managed via the MyABF (utilising NSBC prepayment system). NSBC members are reminded to select "Club PP System" when entering otherwise you will be charged the full visitor fee. NSBC member entry fee = $42 ($14 per session) Visitor entry fee = $51 ($17 per session)
Format
The (expected) format for this event is a continuous Howell movement running over three sessions. The final format is contingent on the number of entries. Scoring is Matchpoints. Yellow systems are not allowed.
Player Substitutes
All player subsitutitions, even last minute ones, must be approved by the tournament committee. Please make your best effort to subsitute a player of comparable standard. Players deemed by the tournament commitee to not be of comparable standard may result in score adjustments. Take a moment to think ahead of players you could consider in the case of needing a subsitute.
