Australia's Bridge Day Out

Australia’s Bridge Day Out – NSBC is Proud to Play a Part!
On Tuesday, 23rd September, bridge players across the nation will come together for the very first Australia’s Bridge Day Out – a unique celebration where clubs big and small will be playing the same deals, raising funds, and uniting in support of a wonderful cause: growing Bridge in Schools across Australia.
The ABF Foundation, founded in 2020, is leading this initiative. Its mission is to secure the future of bridge by funding projects that strengthen the game and its community. From 2025–2028, their major focus is developing a sustainable, nationwide Bridge in Schools program—introducing young Australians to the game we love while building critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
What’s Happening on the Day?
At NSBC, we’ll be hosting a full program of Red Point sessions, all raising money for the ABF Foundation: Players can only play in one session - as hands are the same in all sessions.
The Willis (Open) – 12:30pm at The Willis
East Lindfield (Rookie) – 1:30pm interactive lesson, play from 2:00pm
Online (Open) - 1:30pm
Online (Rookie) – 2:00pm
Online (Restricted/Rookie) – 7:00pm
But that’s not all! Players can look forward to:
A Zoom hand analysis session with expert commentary from Peter Hollands, joined by Sophie Ashton, Mike Doecke, Renee Cooper, and Liam Milne.
The chance to win prizes and vouchers, including a live online lesson with Andy Hung on Competitive Bidding.
The opportunity to compete for red masterpoints while supporting a brilliant cause.
Why It Matters
Every table, every board, and every bid will make a difference. $5 per player (Donation by NSBC - your session fees will remain the same) goes directly to the ABF Foundation’s Bridge in Schools initiative, helping bring our game into classrooms around the country. Clubs are also adding their own flavour—raffles, sausage sizzles, dress-ups, and more—to make the day fun and memorable.
How You Can Support
Come along, play some great bridge, enjoy the festivities, and know you’re contributing to something much bigger than just the day’s results. Together, we’re ensuring bridge continues to thrive for the next generation.
