First F2F Session at the RSL

nr rsl

An enthusiastic group of players turned up for the Wednesday's 10 am Open game at our new venue - North Ryde RSL. They were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable surroundings, good lighting and the excellent facilities on offer. As the room had not been used for nearly a year, management were caught off guard by a somewhat cooler than expected temperature - due to a fault in the air-conditioning. This is expected to be corrected immediately.

Although the RSL does not open its doors to other members before 11 am, the club made a special effort to welcome our bridge players early by opening their cafe from 9:15 am. We took advantage of this to have a decent cup of coffee and many stayed back after the session for an opportunity to discuss the hands and to have lunch and a drink at the club.

A light lunch, including sandwiches and salads can be found at the Marble Cafe, while more substantial meals are on offer at the Riverviews restaurant. There is also a very popular Chinese restaurant - The House of Tong.

Many of our players were also very pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to drive to this location - from the North Shore, Northern Beaches and even the inner west - with little change in travel time from their experience driving to Club Willoughby.

Our next session at the RSL will be at 1:00pm this coming Saturday. Come and re-capture the pleasure of meeting your friends and competitors that you may not have seen f2f since March last year!
