Welcome to North Shore Bridge Club – the big Club with a small community feel, and the North Shore's hidden gem!
With over 1,700 Bridge members, we are one of Australia's largest bridge clubs. As part of Lindfield Bowling & Bridge Club, we are now part of an even bigger community of over 1,800 members across Bridge and Bowls.
Whether you are an experienced player, returning to bridge after a break, or completely new to the game, we'd love you to become part of our friendly and welcoming community.
Our story goes back much further than 2007. Through a series of mergers, our club brings together a rich history of bridge on Sydney's North Shore, with roots stretching back to 1962.
Our History – A Community Built Over Generations
North Shore Bridge Club was formed in early 2007 through the merger of three Sydney clubs: Lindfield, Willoughby and Cove Bridge Clubs.
In 2015, we expanded further through a merger with Gordon Bridge Club, bringing additional sessions and players into our East Lindfield community.
In essence, our history stretches back to 1962, reflecting more than six decades of bridge, friendship and community on Sydney's North Shore.
A New Chapter – The 2026 Merger
In 2026, we took another major step forward when North Shore Bridge Club joined forces with Lindfield Bowling Club to establish Lindfield Bowling & Bridge Club.
This brought together two established community clubs under one organisation, creating a shared home for Bridge and Bowls and an exciting opportunity to build an even stronger community.
North Shore Bridge Club now operates as the Bridge sub-club of Lindfield Bowling & Bridge Club. While our legal structure has changed, our bridge identity, our people, our sessions and our commitment to providing great bridge remain at the heart of everything we do.
The merger gives us the opportunity to share facilities, build friendships across both activities and invest in a sustainable future for generations of members to come.
How We Operate
North Shore Bridge Club is not privately owned or run for profit. Following the 2026 merger, it operates within Lindfield Bowling & Bridge Club, which is governed by an elected Board.
Our Bridge community is supported by the Bridge Club Manager, an Online Bridge Manager, administrative staff, an experienced team of more than 20 Directors and five Teachers, as well as committee members and volunteers who generously contribute their time.
Our Directors and Teachers provide professional guidance and ensure our sessions are enjoyable, fair and welcoming. Our committee and volunteers help us continually improve the experience for members.
Something for Every Bridge Player
We offer a comprehensive programme catering for players at every stage of their bridge journey. Whether you have never picked up a deck of cards, are developing your skills or are an experienced Grand Master, there is a place for you at North Shore Bridge Club.
Beginner Lessons
Structured face-to-face beginner lessons at East Lindfield, as well as online, self-guided courses to help new players learn at their own pace.
Intermediate Lessons & Workshops
Online and face-to-face lessons, back-to-basics sessions and development workshops to help players improve their knowledge and confidence.
Supervised Play
Friendly sessions for new players who have completed their beginner lessons or are just starting out. Our Teachers and Directors are on hand to provide active support.
Rookie Sessions
For players with fewer than 100 masterpoints. These sessions provide a supportive introduction to competitive bridge, with opportunities to learn and develop.
Restricted Sessions
For players with fewer than 300 masterpoints. These sessions offer a stepping stone towards Open bridge, allowing players to develop their skills and confidence.
Open Sessions
For players of all standards, with a mix of experience and ability. Enjoy a competitive game in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Championship Nights
Our Thursday evening competitions attract some very strong players, including State and Australian representatives.
Congresses & Special Events
We run face-to-face and online congresses, social bridge events, club championships, prize competitions and special tournaments throughout the year.
Where and How We Play
We offer a varied programme of face-to-face and online bridge, making it easier for members to enjoy the game in the way that suits them.
- East Lindfield: Our established face-to-face bridge venue, offering regular morning, afternoon and evening sessions.
- The Willis Recreation and Sports Centre, Chatswood: Our additional face-to-face venue, providing another opportunity for members to enjoy bridge.
- RealBridge: We run regular online sessions, allowing members to play from home and stay connected with the Club.
Our former Willoughby venue ceased operating as a bridge venue in 2020 following redevelopment plans and the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Willis Recreation and Sports Centre subsequently became our Chatswood venue.
Membership
We offer two membership categories:
Full Membership
Per annum. Includes affiliation with the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) and Bridge NSW.

Online Membership
Per annum. Available only to members living outside the Sydney metropolitan area who are already a member of another Australian bridge club.
Online Membership does not include ABF or Bridge NSW affiliation fees.

Our aim is simple: to give bridge players a good, enjoyable game in a friendly and pleasant environment, whatever their standard of play.
We are affiliated with the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) and Bridge NSW, and ABF masterpoints are allocated for eligible sessions and events.
Above all, we believe bridge is about more than the cards. It is about friendship, learning, belonging and being part of a community.
