Rewards for our Most Loyal Members
The club welcomes members and visitors at all of our venues - whether it is online on RealBridge or in person at our fabulous club rooms at East Lindfield and The Willis at Middle Cove. We especially welcome those of you who are returning to face-to-face bridge.
As the largest club in Australia - we currently have 1833 members - we are finding that the numbers at our two live venues are steadily increasing.
While the Online form of the game has proved popular, there were 465 members who came at least once to play in our friendly face-to-face sessions at East Lindfield and the Willis during September. This includes just the daytime Open and Rookie sessions. It does not include any Lessons, Supervised sessions or Congresses. (There were no face-to-face Congresses in September)
So we can see that many of our members are coming back to this form of the game and we would like to encourage this trend and see if we can build up the numbers to the levels we had prior to the pandemic.
Starting from October, each month we are going to reward members with the highest face-to-face attendance record during that month. This includes all Open, Rookie and Congress events that are held at our East Lindfield and Willis venues during the month.
Many of you will be familiar with the concept of Loyalty Awards being offered at coffee shops, where a card is stamped after each purchase of a coffee. A free coffee is awarded after a certain threshold is reached.
We will mimic this idea and will award free bridge sessions to the three members with the highest number of sessions played at East Lindfield and Willis during the month - irrespective of whether the sessions are Open, Rookie or Congress. Any ties that may occur will be broken on the basis of Master Points won during the month.
As a practice run, the September stats for these two venues produced the following Top 10:

You can see here that, as well as the Monthly Winner for September (based on Total Master Points) Marlaine was also the most loyal attendee at our two face-to-face club rooms. So you can be assured of a high standard game at these venues!
As members return to playing face-to-face, we are trying to offer more opportunities for people to do so. We are considering starting a new session on Friday afternoons at the Willis (not in the morning as previously) starting at 12:45pm. The session would normally end around 3:45pm - leaving plenty of time to shop and prepare dinner!
