R.I.P. Barry Feyder

We were all very saddened to hear that Barry Feyder passed away last week.

 Barry Feyder

             Barry Feyder

       7 July 1952 - 20 July 2023

Barry learnt his bridge at an early age from his parents.  He played sporadically until taking it up more seriously about 6 years ago with his brother Robbie at the urging of a long term family friend, Liz Sylvester.  Barry started playing at Trumps but played most of his bridge at North Shore Bridge Club - initially at Willoughby and then post Covid he especially appreciated the on line sessions. Barry really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships that developed over the bridge table and especially during tournaments.

Barry worked at IBM for almost 40 years both in South Africa and then in Australia when he moved here in 1987.  He was a keen long distance swimmer and his accomplishments included completing the Rottnest Swim and the Robin Island to Cape Town Freedom Swim in South Africa.

Barry has had some serious health issues over the past 7 years and his health deteriorated rapidly over the past few weeks and he passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Adriana, and two daughters Nicole and Jessica.
