Australia Day Weekend Congress

This was the annual congress event held on the Australia Day weekend. 

Congratulations to Hui Li and Patrick Jiang for winning the OPEN, Marelle Irvine and Peter Robinson placing 2nd , Colin Clifford and Rakesh Kumar placing 3rd. 

Congratulations also to Christine Hanley and Terry Dunne for winning the RESTRICTED; and Robyn Rogers and Julie Mansfield for placing 2nd.

In the Open section the top five placed pairs jostled in the last two rounds and ended in a close finish with 6VP’s between first and fifth places.

RESTRICTED

The Restricted section was riveting. Christine Hanley and Terry Dunne gained an early lead in the first round and held onto it to the end. There were times in the afternoon where 1st 2nd and 3rd were quite close together but no one managed to topple the team coming first. Every pair earned at least a win and a draw today meaning everyone who played will receive red masterpoints!
