Bridging Generations: Our New Youth Policy Encourages Grandparents to Share the Game!

At North Shore Bridge Club, we’re passionate about keeping the game of bridge thriving for generations to come. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new Youth Policy, designed to make it easier for grandparents to bring their grandkids along and introduce them to the world’s most fascinating card game!

Why Bridge?

Bridge isn’t just a game – it’s a mental workout, a social connector, and a lifelong skill. Studies show that playing bridge improves memory, enhances problem-solving skills, and fosters strong social connections. What better way to bond with your grandchildren than over a game that challenges the mind and brings people together?

How It Works

  • All players under 26 are encouraged to join the ABF Youth Club (Australian Bridge Federation).
  • Once an ABF Youth Club member, NSBC offers complimentary membership – simply sign up to receive your benefits.
  • As an NSBC Youth Member:
    • All online and face-to-face bridge sessions at NSBC are free of charge.
    • All NSBC Congresses (face-to-face and online) are free of charge until their 16th birthday.

What If They’re New to Bridge?

While young players should have a basic understanding of bridge before joining, we know that starting out can be daunting. That’s why we offer beginner-friendly sessions to help them build confidence and improve their skills, including:

  • Supervised Play – A relaxed environment with guidance from experienced players.
  • Beginner-Friendly Duplicate Days – Such as our Rookie Sessions, where newer players can enjoy a more comfortable introduction to competitive play.
