ver the past few months, our fabulous team has been quietly working behind the scenes to make the room more inviting, organised, and smart-looking. It all started with one very important decision…

The Great Tablecloth Trial

You may have noticed we’ve been experimenting with a few different tablecloth fabrics recently — and after much cogitating, consulting, and poking at samples, we’ve settled on a winner! A huge thank you to Janet for sourcing some beautiful fabric options and to Shaz for, frankly, what must’ve been a record-breaking number of trips to Spotlight.

Once the final fabric was chosen, Shaz got cutting — and then Carolyn Green worked her magic, overlocking all 70 tablecloths (yes, seventy!). The result is a fresh, cohesive look across all the tables — much more polished than the mishmash we had before.

Decluttering and DIY-ing

While all that was happening, Mike, Sue, and Josh were busy — cleaning up, binning old tables, decluttering the cupboards, and even managing to rehome those infamous blue screens via Facebook Marketplace.

And that wasn’t the only DIY around. Jo, Shaz and Mike built brand new cushion boxes to tidy up our storage, and then Shaz and Jo got stuck into painting the walls, covering up years of dings, marks, and mystery smudges.

A Massive Thank You

To everyone who helped — whether you were choosing fabrics, cutting cloth, painting walls, building boxes, decluttering, ordering supplies, waiting for the cupboards to be installed or simply offering an opinion on which blue looked best — THANK YOU.

This transformation was truly a team effort, and the end result is a cleaner, calmer, more comfortable space that we're proud to welcome members into.
