A resounding YES from all at East Lindfield today
Thank you to everyone who turned out, voted, supported, asked good questions, brought good humour, or simply crossed their fingers for us during this process. At our EGM, the motion to approve the merger with the Lindfield Bowling Club was passed – a huge milestone and a credit to our wonderfully engaged community.
But before we pop the champagne, we’re only halfway across the road. The next step sits with the Lindfield Bowling Club, who will be holding their own EGM on Saturday 13th December at East Lindfield. Their members will vote on the necessary changes to their constitution to allow the merger to proceed.
So, it’s not a done deal just yet — fingers and toes still firmly crossed, please.
If their vote does not pass, then all stops and we simply carry on as we were. No harm done, no bridges burned (pun absolutely intended), but we will be sad.
If their vote does go through, then we move into the transition phase. This will include working through merger tasks, forming the new Board, and onboarding all NSBC members into the new entity. We’ll keep you fully updated once we know the outcome — promise.
For now, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you.
To you, our members, for your support, patience, and belief in this direction for our club.
To Mike and Josh, who managed the ballots and registration with admirable calm and efficiency — and only minimal eye-rolling from me.
To Jo and Terry, who made everyone feel welcome (as always) and ran a smooth registration desk.
And to Ian Kimmorley, our diligent Recording Officer, who kept everything accurate and above board.
It’s been a long road to get to this point, and many hands have helped along the way. A very big THANK YOU to all of you — you know who you are.
More updates soon. Until then, happy bridging and keep those fingers and toes crossed!
