A Forever Home: Merger Approved by Lindfield Bowling Club

Merger

North Shore Bridge Club is delighted to announce a major milestone in our journey toward securing a permanent home.

Following our own successful Extraordinary General Meeting, Lindfield Bowling Club has now held their EGM and members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the merger, with more than 90% voting YES. This clears the way for our two clubs to come together as one merged entity.

For NSBC members, this represents the achievement of a long‑held goal: a stable, welcoming, and permanent home for our club.

What happens next?

The next phase will focus on implementation and transition:

  • A Transition Team will be established, comprising representatives from both clubs.
  • Work will begin on governance, operations, and practical arrangements to support the merged club.
  • At a later stage, all NSBC members will be asked to complete a membership form for the new entity. Further details and timelines will be communicated clearly when ready.

A shared achievement

This outcome has only been possible because of the commitment and collaboration of many people.

We extend heartfelt thanks to:

  • The NSBC Committee and Project Team for their dedication, teamwork, and ability to calmly navigate challenges while keeping the club’s long‑term interests front of mind.
  • The many NSBC members over the years who have contributed to discussions, proposals, and searches for a permanent home.
  • The Lindfield Bowling Club Project Team, whose respectful, thoughtful, and solutions‑focused approach made this partnership possible.

As my husband and I were in Santiago when the news arrived — we celebrated appropriately with a glass of Chilean Carmenère — it truly felt like a moment worth toasting.  My new favourite wine...

This is a great day for North Shore Bridge Club and a powerful step toward a secure, exciting future. We look forward to sharing the next chapter with our Bowls and Bridge members very soon.
