The annual Margaret Smale Metro North Interclub Teams event on Sunday was a tie for first place between Peninsula Bridge Club and North Shore Bridge Club. The event was held this year at Peninsula's clubrooms.

 

Five clubs contested the 2026 event - Trumps, Peninsula, Manly, Forestville and NSBC. They were divided into two sections based on the average Masterpoints of each team. 

  • Division A - OPEN - and INTERMEDIATE (under 750 Masterpoints)
  • Division B - RESTRICTED (under 300 Masterpoints) and  NOVICE (under 100 Masterpoints)

 

 

There were a total of 26 teams competing from the 5 clubs. 

Points were awarded for placegetters in each section.

 

The best-placed NSBC team in Division A was the SHTEYMAN team:

Felix Shteyman - Susan Feeney - David Burton - Janet Crocker

 

 

The best-placed NSBC team in Division B was the HUNTER team:

Brian Hunter - Mal Colderick - Lisa Crocker - Sarah Dixon

It appears that this may be the last time this event is held in the current format - with a new format under development for 2027.
