NSBC Grand National Open Teams Direct Qualifier 2024
The Grand National Open Teams has a new format which can be reviewed here GNOT 2024. Our direct qualifier event will send the winning team directly into Stage 2 which is the 64 Team Knockout event held online on RealBridge on 20-22 September. Our second through to fourth placed teams will have sponsored entry into the Sydney Metro Final (Stage 1.5) which is a face-to-face event at held at Goulburn St on 8-9 September 2024.

Format
This is the four week event consisting of three weeks of qualifying followed by a head-to-head final and consolation swiss in the fourth week. For the qualifying rounds we have to seeded the field into two pools A & B where teams will play all of the teams in the other pool over 6 x 14 board rounds. In the fourth week the winners of each pool will play in the final and the rest will play in the Swiss.

Draw - Week 4
Final is REW vs BUTTS. The remainder of the teams will play in the Swiss. The first round of the Swiss will see the remainder of the teams in each pool playing the next placed teams within their pool such that 2nd place vs 3rd place and 4th place v 5th place. The sixth place within each pool will play each other. The second match in the Swiss will be a normal Swiss movement.

Player Substitutes
All player subsitutitions, even last minute ones, must be approved by the tournament committee. Please make your best effort to subsitute a player of comparable standard. Players deemed by the tournament commitee to not be of comparable standard may result in score adjustments. Take a moment to think ahead of players you could consider in the case of needing a subsitute.
